Kabras Sugar, the current leaders of the National Sevens Circuit, are set to headline the Kabeberi Sevens, the fourth leg of the 2024 series, at the RFUEA Grounds in Nairobi.

Fresh off their triumphant victory at the Dala Sevens in Kisumu, Kabras are riding high on confidence and form as they look to extend their lead at the top of the standings.

Kabras Sugar has consistently been the team to beat, currently sitting on 61 points, three points ahead of second-placed Harlequins.

Their remarkable run includes not just the Dala Sevens win but also strong performances in the previous legs, which have solidified their position as the frontrunners in the circuit.

In Group A of the Kabeberi Sevens, Kabras are grouped with Nakuru RFC, Strathmore Leos, and Impala RFC. Nakuru RFC, currently 8th on the log with 30 points, will be eager to upset the leaders and make a statement.

Strathmore Leos, who are currently in 9th place with 26 points, have shown flashes of brilliance and will be looking to break into the top tier with a strong showing. Impala RFC, though not featuring prominently in the top 18 standings, are known for their unpredictable nature and could pose a challenge.

Group B features Menengai Oilers, the Dala Sevens runners-up, who are 4th in the standings with 41 points. They will be looking to close the gap on the top three teams, especially with Catholic Monks, who are just a point behind them in 5th place, also in the same group.

Stallions Rugby, currently 12th with 13 points, and Kisumu RFC, who have struggled and are 16th with 3 points, round off the group.

Group C promises to be highly competitive with Kenya Harlequin, Nondies, Daystar Falcons, and Blak Blad.

Harlequin, currently 2nd with 58 points, will aim to continue their chase of Kabras, while Nondies, in 7th place with 37 points, will want to push higher up the table. Daystar Falcons (10th with 19 points) and Blak Blad (11th with 16 points) will both see this as an opportunity to rise in the rankings.

Group D is equally tough, featuring MMUST (6th with 39 points), KCB Rugby (3rd with 45 points), Mwamba (14th with 9 points), and MKU Thika, a team looking to make an impact. KCB Rugby, always a formidable force, will look to reclaim ground and challenge for the top spot as the circuit progresses.

As the National Sevens Circuit reaches its midway point, the Kabeberi Sevens is set to be a crucial tournament. Kabras Sugar's performance will be closely watched as they aim to cement their dominance, but with strong teams in every group, the competition is sure to be fierce.
