Buffaloes, Rhinos, Cheetahs and Lions will be battling for the two tickets to play in the final of the 2024 Rugby Super Series next week as the final leg of the series gets underway at The Bull Ring in Kakamega on Saturday.

After the two opening legs played in Nairobi and Nakuru, Cheetahs sit top with eight points followed by Lions with six points and Buffaloes are third with four points. Rhino who are winless and possibly out of contention are bottom without a point after losing two matches.

Cheetahs who have already qualified for the final will kick off the games with a battle against winless Rhinos at 2pm before Buffaloes face off against Lions in what will be a do or die affair as the winner of the 4pm match will qualify for the finals.

Speaking ahead of the final, Buffaloes coach Max Adaka said all is at stake for them because it is a must win as they eye a place in the final next weekend.

“We are going for the trophy. Everything is at stake for us and we need this win to be able to compete for another trophy. Training has been good and we expect a tough match,” said Adaka.

On the other hand, Cheetahs tactician Lawrence Buyachi said he wants to maintain momentum after their perfect run.

Cheetahs saw off Lions 18-16 in Nakuru after thumping Buffaloes 15-5 in Nairobi two weeks ago.
