As the crescendo of Kenya's premier rugby spectacle approaches, KCB Rugby braces itself for a titanic clash against defending champions Kabras RFC in the Kenya Cup final set to unfold at the revered Kakamega Showground tomorrow.

With the scent of redemption in the air, the eight-time champions are fervently determined to reclaim the coveted title and reignite the flame of victory within their den.

The journey towards redemption has been fraught with tribulations for KCB, having endured successive heartbreaks in their quest for Kenya Cup glory.

In the annals of recent history, the bankers found themselves thwarted by adversity, succumbing to the ferocious challenge posed by Menengai Oilers in the semi-finals of the 2021/2022 season and enduring a bitter defeat at the hands of Kabras in the finals of the 2022/2023 campaign.

This impending showdown marks the seventh encounter between KCB and Kabras in the Kenya Cup final, a testament to their perennial dominance in Kenyan rugby.

Despite Kabras' recent triumphs, KCB holds a formidable record, having emerged victorious in five of their last six encounters.

The bankers' last taste of Kenya Cup glory dates back to 2021 when they clinched the title with a narrow yet resolute triumph over the millers, sealing their legacy with a 28-25 victory at their hallowed den.

In the current season, KCB encountered early setbacks, stumbling against formidable adversaries Menengai Oilers and Kabras RFC in the regular season, succumbing to defeats of 21-07 and 14-10, respectively.

However, a resurgent spirit propelled them to a triumphant 21-12 victory in the cup semi-finals, staged at the KCB Sports Club, Ruaraka.
