Defending regional champions Koyonzo will renew their rivalry with Bungoma High School in Group A, which also has Nyangori and Ebusiloli as they look forward to defend their Western Region Secondary School rugby sevens title this week.
Koyonzo, who are also the national rugby Sevens champions, are targeting the East African title and their coach Elly Okwemba said they are warming up on their way to the top.
"We are going to defend our title. That is a fact because my boys are playing better than they did last year when they went all the way to win the nationals for the first time," said Okwemba.
"It won't be easy because a lot of work needs to be done on the field, but I trust in my boys to deliver. This is Koyonzo and we are champions."
Kakamega High will face off with national rugby 15s champions Butula Boys in the 'Group of Death' alongside Friends School Kamusinga and Kolanya.
