Five killed in fatal Londiani road crash

Five people died this morning and ten others sustained multiple injuries following a fatal road accident at the Londiani area on the Nakuru- Kericho Highway.
The Standard has established that the accident happened at around 3.30 am on Saturday, December 2.
The accident victims, five men, and one child died after the 14-seater matatu they were traveling in rammed into a trailer on the busy highway.
According to police, the matatu was headed towards Nakuru from Kericho when the driver rammed into a trailer.
The injured have been transferred to hospitals in Molo and Londiani Sub-County for treatment, the Kenya Red Cross has confirmed.

Eleven of the passengers sustained serious injuries and were rushed to Molo and Londiani Hospitals whereby they are undergoing treatment.

Red Cross said on Saturday that police have also cleared the accident scene, while they continue with tracing efforts.
The accident follows another fatal crash at the Londiani junction in June this year that claimed the lives of more than 50 people.
A truck rammed into seven vehicles at the Londiani junction on the Kericho-Nakuru Road, killing 51 people.
