Former Nakuru mayor Joseck Thuo's widows and daughter will be paid Sh150,000 monthly upkeep from his estate until a ="https://www.standardmedia.co.ke/article/2001483127/inheritance-feud-unveils-mayors-vast-estate-and-contested-will">Sh1 billion succession suit< is heard and determined.

High Court judge Heston Nyaga made the order on Monday after Susan Thuo, one of the widows, complained that she was struggling to cater for herself and her daughter Judy Mukami since ="https://www.standardmedia.co.ke/article/2001478229/joseck-thuo-former-nakuru-mayor-who-carried-his-will-in-the-car-until-his-death">Thuo< died.

Thuo was survived by two widows - Mary and Susan - and five children.

Susan told the judge she was suffering in her advanced age and was taking care of her ailing daughter, Mukami.

The Thuo family is in court after Susan, her son Nixon Kariuki, and Mukami contested the authenticity of the will left behind by the businessman cum politician who died on December 27, 2021.

The three had objected to the application by Harrison Ngeta and Nahashon Kabiri, who had petitioned the High Court for probate of Thuo's will.

In their petition, the duo claimed the document showing how Thuo wished to share his assets was forged.

They claimed that some properties were omitted and that they had unrestricted and unsupervised access to the will before Thuo died.

Justice Nyaga ordered the widows and the daughter receive the money monthly.

"By the consent Sh150,000 to be withdrawn from NCBA for the provisions for the two widows and Judy equally per month," the court ruled.

The widow had earlier testified that the will was doctored alleging that some pages had blank spaces with some names omitted.
