The family of Evans Chirchir slain National Treasury official whose body was found dumped in Machakos County has called for thorough investigations into circumstances that led to his death.

Willy Kipchirchir, the father of the deceased, told The Standard yesterday that his son had expressed fear for his life over a Sh286 million tender.

Speaking from his home in Sebetet village, Bureti sub-county in Kericho County, Kipchirchir demanded justice saying his son's death should not be in vain.

"If someone was involved in his death, they should be arrested and prosecuted. We need to know the truth and we will fight until we get justice," he said.

Kipchirchir said his son had raised concerns about his safety at work and that is where the detectives must begin their investigations.

"My son had worked for a very short time at the Treasury, and he told me about threats he had received on his phone from unknown people. I advised him to take leave from work," he said.

Chirchir attended Kabianga University where he graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, majoring in procurement.

The 34-year-old was single and lived alone in Nairobi, according to his father.

Police said his body was brought to Machakos Level Five Hospital on August 31, 2024.
