Eden Hazard has been forced to scrap his trademark goal celebration - because his knees are "on fire".

The Chelsea forward has been known to slide on his knees at the corner flag after scoring for the Blues.

With six Premier League goals to his name, he has showcased the celebration plenty of times already this season.

But eagle-eyed fans will notice that he did not perform it when he opened the scoring during last weekend's 1-1 draw with Liverpool at Stamford Bridge.

Hazard has admitted that he is feeling the strain of performing the knee slide on a regular basis.

"Look, look celebrations, sliding on my knees I need to stop this," he told Chelsea’s official website.

"My knees they are on fire now. Sorry for the fans but no more celebrations like this."

Hazard performed the knee slide a few days before the league game with Liverpool, as he notched the winner against the same opponent in the Carabao Cup.

But it might be the last time we see the celebration for a while.

Hazard showed off his battered and bruised knees in a video that was featured on Chelsea's Twitter, talking about the goal celebration.
