Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and his DAP-K counterpart Eugene Wamalwa have pledged their support to Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua ahead of a potential impeachment motion.

The two leaders made these remarks during a memorial service for the 21 pupils who tragically lost their lives in the Hillside Endarasha Academy fire.

"Go tell Riggy G, God is on the throne. There's tension in this country; let's pray for Kenya. And when the time comes, we will rally behind you without fear or hatred. This country is bigger than all of us," said Kalonzo.

According to sources who spoke to the Standard, an impeachment motion against Gachagua could be tabled in Parliament soon, with reports indicating that it is ready and has garnered the necessary support from Members of Parliament.

Insiders revealed that allies of President William Ruto are pushing for the motion to be tabled before the President returns from his US trip.

Echoing Kalonzo's sentiments, Wamalwa reassured Gachagua of his support when the time comes.

"I want to assure you that the mountain has friends. Both Kalonzo and I were friends of the late President Mwai Kibaki. If the day comes and the mountain calls upon us, we will stand with you-you will not walk alone," Wamalwa declared.

Gachagua, for his part, praised the people of the mountain for being trusting, kind, and loving.

"They return love with love, kindness with kindness. They are very forgiving, but they do not forget. I appeal to everyone to treat the people of the mountain with kindness," he said.
