The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has denied allegations that it is targeting the family of its former Secretary General, Cleophas Malala.
This comes after Malala claimed that his son and 19-year-old brother-in-law were kidnapped at gunpoint.
In a post on X, Malala said the two were tortured for six hours and pressured to disclose his and his wife's whereabouts.
The abductors also allegedly demanded to know the location of his residence.
However, UDA Treasurer Japheth Nyakundi, in a Facebook post dismissed the accusations, stating that the Party has no interest in Malala's family.

"As a party, we regret the inconvenience, but no one is after your family. UDA only wants to reclaim the cars provided to you during your time with the party, which you refused to return," Nyakundi said.
He further added, "If the party was truly after you and your family, we could have taken action when you appeared for an interview on K24. There was no abduction...stop the drama."
Malala was ousted as UDA Secretary-General in August following internal disputes within the party. Hassan Omar assumed the position in the interim.
