Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition joint Parliamentary Group (PG) has unanimously endorsed two members from ODM for parliamentary leadership positions.

According to ODM's Secretary General Edwin Sifuna, the part has endorsed Suna East Member of Parliament Junet Mohamed as the Minority Leader and Suba North MP Millie Odhiambo as the Whip in the National Assembly.

"The Azimio PG meeting has unanimously endorsed the proposals from ODM to appoint Junet Mohamed and Millie Odhiambo as the new Minority Leader and Whip in the National Assembly respectively," Sifuna said on X.

The endorsement comes a week after the Central Management Committee of the opposition party announced changes in its leadership positioning of the national assembly.

The Committee settled for Junet Mohamed as the Minority Leader, Millie Odhiambo for the role of Minority Whip, Caleb Amisi to take up the role of Chair Public Accounts Committee, and Funyula MP Wilberforce Oundo to take up the seat of Vice Chair.

The position of Minority leader was created after Opiyo Wandayi was appointed by President William Ruto as Energy Cabinet Secretary.

Millie now steps into Junet's position at the National Assembly as the Whip.
