Azimio co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka has accused members of the Kenya Kwanza coalition of barring the implementation of the National Dialogue Committee (NADCO) report.

The report was formulated after both Azimio and Kenya coalition representatives held a dialogue to address issues raised by the opposition team during their street protests.

Speaking in Diani, Kwale County on Sunday, the former vice president said the court petition seeking to bar implementation of the report was sponsored by Kenya Kwanza, calling on the two coalition leaders to intervene.

"The plot to stop implementation of NADCO Report was hatched even as the Bomas talks were ongoing. The court petition was sponsored by Kenya Kwanza. Kenya Kwanza was hell-bent on ensuring that they are the only one who selects new IEBC commissioners. This is a strategy by Kenya Kwanza. We want Raila Odinga Odinga and William Ruto to intervene and give way forward on the report," Kalonzo says.

If nothing is done to address the issue, Kalonzo has vowed to return to street demonstrations.

"The government has been conning Kenya by selling fake fertiliser and is now starving media houses by withdrawing direct advertisements. We are ready to go back to the streets,".

On the other hand, former Defence CS Eugene Wamalwa says he noticed foul play when the final report failed to address issues of the high cost of living.

Therefore, he adds, he did not sign the report.

"I am one of those who refused to sign the report because the main issues we presented were not captured. One of the issues Kenya Kwanza refused to include in the report is the cost of living...That is why after we left Bomas the government has increased tax after tax. The petition against the report was a state-sponsored litigation," Wamalwa says.

Two days ago, the Kiambu High Court suspended the implementation of the NADCO report pending a hearing and determination of a case filed by activist Michael Muchemi.

In his petition, Muchemi argues that implementation of the said report would cause a Constitutional crisis in the country, therefore Lady Justice Dora Chepkwony suspended the report which is currently before parliament.

National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung'wah has dismissed the claims of Kenya Kwanza barring the implementation of the NADCO report.

Ichung'wah, who also doubles as the NADCO co-chair says the report will be implemented as adopted by parliament and that the court case will be handled in court.
