Deputy Prezzo Rigathi Gachagua aka Riggy G traversed from the mountain to the sea this week in a remarkable journey of self-discovery.

Riggy G, who had been muted after his excursion to the mountain arrived in Mombasa in a garrulous mood.

Stepping out in an open shirt, I initially thought he was going to declare he had joined the Mombasa Republican Army, who have been pushing for a secession of the Coast region, now that Gen-Z had threatened to occupy the Nairobi State House.

Instead, Riggy G said he was addressing the nation to lay it on the line who was to blame for the mayhem that had roiled the nation, and that man was none other than the National Intelligence Service boss, Noordin Haji.

Well, that's a strange claim, considering Haji does not sit in Parliament, so he didn't endorse the offensive Bill that Kenyans rejected in toto. Neither did his unit receive billions for renovations or spousal support. That distinction was reserved for Riggy G.

Riggy G charged that Haji had failed to advise Prezzo Ruto appropriately and forestall the groundswell of anger that has engulfed the nation. I'd have dismissed this as a cock and bull story, but I remembered this was coming from Riggy G, who has the reputation of being a "truthful man."

I concluded Riggy G was right to suggest Prezzo Ruto had missed the anti-tax uproar because the NIS boss did not brief him. After all, Prezzo Ruto doesn't take free advice-only those on taxpayers' payroll.
