The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party has announced plans to launch a membership drive on Saturday, November 11, 2023, in Siaya town, as it gears up for the 2024 grassroots elections.
The party leader, Raila Odinga, will preside over the launch, which is expected to attract thousands of supporters and members from the region.
According to ODM Party Director of communications Philip Etale, the event is part of the party's strategy to rejuvenate and reenergize its grassroots structures ahead of the elections.
He said the party will also hold grassroots elections early next year, after the National Executive Committee (NEC) approved the decision in September.
The move comes months after UDA party also cleared the way for its grassroots elections, which are scheduled for December 9, 2023.
