Joho, Oparanya, Murkomen in Ruto's 'new look' cabinet

President William Ruto on Wednesday announced additional names to his cabinet, pending approval, in his bid to form a broad-based team to steer the country forward.

The list, set to evoke mixed reactions from Kenyans, saw the return of former Governors Ali Hassan Joho and Wycliffe Oparanya, and former Transport CS Kipchumba Murkomen.

Here is the list in full:

  1. John Mbadi – National Treasury
  2. Salim Mvurya – Investment Trade & Industry
  3. Rebecca Miano – Tourism & Wildlife
  4. James Opiyo Wandayi – Energy and Petroleum
  5. Kipchumba Murkomen – Youth Affairs, Creative Economy & Sports
  6. Hassan Ali Joho – Mining, Blue Economy &
  7. Dr Alfred Mutua – Labour and Social Protection
  8. Wycliffe Oparanya – Cooperatives, MSME Dev’t
  9. Justin Muturi – Public Service
  10. Stella Soi Lang’at – Gender, Culture, Arts & Heritage
