Rising rapper Enchanting dead at 26

Rising rapper Enchanting, formerly signed to Gucci Mane's 1017 Records, has passed away at the age of 26.

The news was confirmed by her close friend and collaborator Lil CJ Kasino on social media.

"They Pulled The Plug Bro This S--t So F--ked Up," Kasino wrote in a June 11 Instagram post. "I Just Knew You was Finna Pull Threw. You gone Forever."

Reflecting on their time together, he added, "You Went Way Further Than Us I Always Told You How Proud I Was Of You."

Enchanting, whose real name was Channing Nicole Larry, reportedly died after being taken off life support due to the effects of an overdose.

Gucci Mane, expressing his grief, posted on Instagram, "So sad to have to say R.I.P to such a great young lady a true star we gone all miss you Chant @luvenchanting," along with a photo of the young Fort Worth, Texas rapper.

A representative from Enchanting's management team provided a statement to The Shade Room, revealing her struggle in her final days.

"She came to my house the last four days to get clean. She tried her best and I did everything I could to help her, she tried."

The Shade Room also mentioned her apparent overdose, which led to her hospitalization.

Enchanting was signed to 1017 Records in 2020 and appeared on three compilation albums before leaving the label in 2023, according to New York radio station Hot 97.

She released her final studio album, "Luv Scarred/No Luv," last year.

Enchanting began pursuing music at 18. Her unique style, which she described as "Trap-n-Blues," focused on raw emotion and connection.

In her bio on the 1017 Records website, she stated her desire to uplift listeners through her music.

"Other people can relate to the things I say. I might help somebody through any situation, they can listen to me and find peace."
