The police in Kisumu are investigating an incident in which offices belonging to a community-based organisation linked to the LGBTQ community were broken into on Sunday night.

The attackers did not steal anything from the premises but vandalised property, including office stationery of unknown value.

In a CCTV clip seen by Nairobian, the suspects can be seen walking inside the office as they searched for documents and destroyed them.

According to the Kisumu Central Sub-County Police Commandant Peter Mulai, an unknown number of gangsters reportedly invaded the offices of 'Let's Be Tested Queens CBO' and vandalised equipment.

The OCPD added that the police have already launched investigations into the incident.

The police commandant, however, decried the lack of cooperation from members of the group.

"We are investigating the matter but the problem we are facing is that the people who reported the matter are reluctant to record a statement," Mulai said.

Let's Be Tested Queens CBO, according to its Secretary General Becky Odhiambo, is a minority women's rights group that champions the rights of lesbians who are members of the LGBTQ community.
