Isaac Isabwa Adongo is a Kakamega-based gospel singer known for his unique style and passionate lyrics. His music is often inspired by his personal experiences and faith in God.
"I was inspired to start singing by my love of music and my desire to share my faith with others. I believe that music can be a powerful tool for evangelism, and I want to use my rapping skills to spread the message of the gospel to the world," he says.
Being barely three years in the music industry, Isabwa released his debut song 'Roho Yangu' in 2020. So far, he has managed a couple of hits with the latest being Jerusalem. He also has a collabo, Vazi Jipya with Sarah Magesa from Tanzania.
While trying his luck in the music industry, Isabwa has had some ups and downs like many other struggling artistes but this has never killed his mojo. "I started my career when Covid had hit. It was such a challenge but I am still going strong. despite everything that happened during that period, I took a leap of faith and believed God would come through for me," he says.
In a shocking turn of events, the Kakamega-based gospel musician says he fell victim to a deceitful producer who promised to produce songs for him.
Known for his soul-stirring gospel music, he had high hopes when he approached the producer with the intention of creating exceptional songs that would touch hearts and inspire listeners. Little did he know that his trust would be betrayed, and his dreams shattered by someone who saw an opportunity to exploit his talent.
"In 2019, I met someone who claimed to be a music producer and he promised that he would undoubtedly help me record my songs. So on this particular day, he took me to town and led me into a certain office where he asked me to wait for him," he says, which was the beginning of his ordeal.
Isaac waited patiently hoping the 'producer' would be done with his duties fast and then attend to him. However, this never materialised.
"I waited for so long but he never showed up. Up to date, I have never seen him again despite having paid him Sh20,000 for the job." This left him heartbroken but managed to go home hoping the job would get done.
At the moment, Isaac is working on a couple of singles that should be out soon. "My plans are to continue making music and sharing my faith with others. I believe that gospel music has the power to change lives, and I want to do everything I can to help it reach a wider audience," he says.
