High Court Judge Justice Daniel Ogembo was on Wednesday found dead in his house in Siaya town.

According to the police report, the 57-year-old judge was alone in the house when the incident occurred.

The cause of death is yet to be established. Police removed the body to the mortuary.

Reports indicate that Justice Ogembo reported to work on Tuesday before he retired home.

His driver is said to have dropped him at his residence. But when he went to pick him up Wednesday as usual he realised he was not responding to calls and texts.

This forced him to access the house where he found him lying dead on the bed.

Siaya County Police Commander Cleti Kimaiyo said the driver informed police that the Judge had complained of pain in the throat on Tuesday before he went to bed.

The Judge's death comes days after Justice David Majanja died.

The news of Ogembo's death came as Judicial officials led by Chief Justice Martha Koome and family attended the requiem mass for Justice Majanja.

Siaya Governor James Orengo said Justice Ogembo had a marvellous ability to listen intently, reflect quietly, and then interject, usually with few words that brought clarity in the courtroom.
