Kenyans who lost their National Identification Cards, passports, and other personal documents to the floods, can now visit an emergency desk at Nyayo House, Nairobi to report.

This is according to Immigration and Citizen Services Principal Secretary Julius Bitok, who on Friday, May 10, said the lost documents will now be treated as an emergency.

Speaking in Athi-river when he led a tree planting exercise, the PS said the Ministry has set up an emergency registry at Nyayo House where victims of floods who lost personal documents will be assisted immediately.

The PS said processing the documents will ensure flood victims continue to access government services uninterrupted.

Emergency desks will also be put up across the regions for the same purpose.

He urged Kenyans to plant trees and embrace the culture of nurturing the trees to mitigate the effects of climate change.
