The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has shortlisted seven candidates for the position of Chief Registrar of the Judiciary.

In a notice in the dailies on Friday, February 16, Chief Justice Martha Kome said the seven met the requirements and will face the Commission for interviews.

They include the Acting Chief Registrar Paul Maina Ndemo, Rose Wachuka Macharia, Jack Ouma Busalile, Frida Mokaya Boyani, Anne Wambeti Ireri, Caroline Japyegen Kendagor, and Kennedy Kandet Lenkamai.

"Following the advertisement of the position of the Chief Registrar of the Judiciary, the Commission received a total of 43 applications. Having reviewed them for completeness and conformity, with the constitutional and statutory requirement, the Commission shortlisted a total of seven candidates," the notice by JSC stated.

The successful candidate will replace Anne Amadi, whose tenure ended in December 2023. Amadi served in the position for 10 years, having taken over from Gladys Boss Shollei.

The next Judiciary Chief Registrar will hold the office for a term of five years and shall be eligible for renewal for another five-year term.
