Residents of Starehe Constituency in Nairobi have undergone a free medical camp after a charity foundation donated over Sh3 million to facilitate the camps.

The foundation THX22 through its parent betting firm 22Bet Kenya said Sh1.6 million was handed over to Freedom Embassy church to fund the medical camp which targeted 700 people within the Starehe Sub-county.

The one-day camp that happened on June 15, 2024, offered screening for various diseases and initiated treatments including eye check-ups, screening for blood sugar levels and HIV/AIDS.

In a statement, the foundation said part of the money was used to purchase medicines to be dispensed free of charge to those who attended the medical camp.

According to the foundation, the donation is part of its broader strategy to engage with and uplift communities, ensuring aid reaches those who need it most.

In addition to the medical camp donation, the foundation also contributed Sh1.9 million to three charities including the Immaculate and Adhoch Foundation in Siaya County, Raising Hearts Foundation and the Sovereign Order of Malta.

The foundation's country manager Joash Ajuoga said 22Bet Kenya remains committed to supporting those in need and investing in the future of Kenyan communities.

"Our collaboration with these organisations underscores our dedication to bringing tangible benefits to individuals and communities across Kenya," said Mr Ajuoga.

He said 22Bet Kenya, through the THX22 foundation that was established to support local sports, culture, ecology, and food supplies in Africa, aims to expand its charitable efforts and support more organizations making a difference.

Ajuoga further noted that this donation is part of a broader strategy to engage with and uplift communities, ensuring aid reaches those who need it most.
