There have been no lion sightings within Lang'ata area of Nairobi, despite reports from locals earlier in the week, the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) has said.
Residents reported seeing three lions near Lang'ata Women's Prison in Nairobi.
But KWS, quelling the fears, said they immediately mobilised a team in search of the wild animals after the reports went viral but none was spotted.
"The KWS Problem Animal Control team promptly mobilised and conducted a thorough search of the area throughout the night. Despite their efforts, no lions were found," the Wildlife Service clarified, adding that its rangers remain on high alert.
KWS has urged the locals to remain vigilant and report any wildlife sightings to their 24- hour hotline number 0800 597 000 or via WhatsApp on 0726 610509.
