Nairobi is an eyesore today.

Floods continue wreaking havoc in the city and its environs following last night's heavy rains.

A spot check by The Standard on Saturday, January 13 revealed a worrying situation: some houses were submerged in flood waters, and roads were rendered impassable.

Motorists were captured maneuvering flooded sections of roads on Mombasa Road, Kenyatta, and Haile Selassie avenues.

Pedestrians on the other hand sought help to cross roads as walking passages were flooded.

The Standard has also learnt that houses at Garden Estate in Nairobi were submerged in water, with residents complaining of poor drainage.

The Kenya Meteorological Department predicted that the ="https://www.standardmedia.co.ke/environment-climate/article/2001488791/brace-for-more-rain-this-weekend-weatherman-warns">heavy rainfall will continue until Monday<, accompanied by storms.
