There is never a generic template that fits all scenarios of life. Life and people are all so dynamic that we can only attempt to generalize certain assumptions based on trends. Well, when some women turn 40 or 50, something major shifts in their personality. I hear this is also when some men come out of the closet to declare that they are gay or want to be openly polygamous.

Their wives and onlookers may be left astonished not only by the new revelations but also by the I don't care attitude they show towards the opinions of others.

Well, some women can become utterly religious and read the Bible from cover to cover while camping in church and following the favourite prophet from Siaya to Timbuktu, others become more rebellious, others more focused while some become more opinionated and more emphatic about their choices.

Some formerly submissive women suddenly become confrontational while some return home to chill having combed the streets of all Majengos in this country and crowned it all in Koinange sampling all types of shafts, including monstrous Abagussi bananas for pay and the sake of rebellion.

At this age, women may not go with the flow anymore, they start to be more pragmatic, asking hard questions like a baby learning to interact with the world would ask albeit in silence. They would question certain instructions that are considered well-grounded norms. It is like a second phase of teenagerhood revisiting.

Women having been trained to be quiet most of their lives, can become more outspoken and challenge the man to do his cleaning and prepare his food.

She might also start to return home when she wants in a bid to compensate for the years she was stuck at home breastfeeding the children and tucking them in bed every night while the man was having fun in the dingy streets of the city.

There is something special about turning 40 and 50 for women. If she has never challenged or questioned your instructions, get ready to be shocked by the new aggressive attitude.
