Manchester United midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin proposed to girlfriend Camille  while on holiday in the French Riviera

Manchester United midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin put his international snub behind him to propose to girlfriend Camille Sold while on holiday in the French Riviera.

The 26-year-old was left disappointed when he was omitted from Didier Deschamps' squad for friendlies against the Netherlands and Russia.

He took advantage of his break by whisking away his other half, and popping the question.

Camille revealed the news on her Instagram, posting a picture of the pair celebrating their engagement with Champagne.

She captioned the post: "An amazing evening, in an incredible place. Just us and the sound of the waves... Can't describe my feeling... No words, it was just unreal... I feel like the luckiest woman #love #amour #reallove #happiness #engagmentring #29mars2016 #infinity #8."

Schneiderlin met Miss Sold last year.

It was reported in August that she had continued to work at the Adidas store in Manchester for £10-an-hour despite being in a relationship with Schneiderlin, who earns around £120,000-a-week.

A fan who saw Camille in the shop told The Sun: “When I saw her I thought I knew her from somewhere.

“Then I saw she had Schneiderlin’s number on her United shirt and realised it was his girlfriend.

“It’s great that she’s working for a living unlike most other Wags, but it’s amazing to think she earns less in six years then he gets in a week.”

Camille found fame as an 18-year-old, appearing on the French version of reality TV show Survivor.

She recently shared a clip from the away end at Manchester City as she watched United record a 1-0 win over their local rivals.
