Paulo Sérgio Oliveira da Silva (1974-2004) - A Brazilian footballer who died due to a fatal cardiac arrest 60 minutes into the match
The Sevilla and Spain wing-back Antonio Puerta died aged 22 after collapsing during his side's match against Getafe.
Phil O'Donnell, 35-year old Motherwell captain collapsed as he was being substituted during his side's win over Dundee United. He died of heart failure.

Belgian player Gregory Mertens suffered a cardiac arrest during a reserve game for Lokeren against K.R.C. Genk on 27 April 2015. He was immediately taken to hospital where he was put in an artificially induced coma. He died on 30 April 2015.
