In the world of sports, the final score only tells half the story. While awards and titles may be the ultimate prize, it is the moments of shared joy, friendly competition, and unwavering support that truly define a community.

This resonated as the Sigona Ladies Invitation, whose theme was, "Friendship and Fairways," concluded at the Sigona Golf Club with celebration and dance on Saturday.

The team prizes highlighted the power of collaboration. The ultimate winners, the dynamic trio of Wendy Owino, Pauline Kimani, and Agnes Salim, secured a sterling score of 103 points to claim the overall team prize.

With team skipper Wendy delivering a humorous, heartfelt speech that captured the essence of the event, their victory was, as they stated, attributed to a bit of skill and a lot of heart.

Tajal Shah, Bee Jones and Harshida Shah with a score of 99 points finished second, followed by the team of Belinda Tuju, Mary Gathoni and Nyokabi Kamau, who posted 98 points.

The team of Ida Makoni, Winnie Njeri, and Susan Kihato finished in fourth place with a total of 96 points. In fifth place, the team consisting of Linda Kikuvi, Rozita D'Souza and Lady Captain Lily Kanyata earned 95 points.

Kanyata said: "Ultimately, the Sigona Ladies Invitation is not just about golf. It is about creating a culture of dialogue, empathy, and unity- values that are desperately needed in Kenya today."

At Thika Sports Club, the KDFGA Patron's Prize, Ken Kigen, emerged as the Division A winner with a score of 36 stableford points. Tom Ayot claimed the Division B title, while Ben Thiga secured the title among the veterans. Orpha Wamaitha was recognised as the lady winner with 32 stableford points.

In other categories, Amos Kariuki was the top TSC member men winner, and Lucy Gitonga took the TSC member lady prize. Joseph Mungai was declared the senior winner, and Ronald Isaaka starred as the sponsor winner with 32 stableford points. Bernard Waciuri bagged the gross title with 74 Gross.

Elsewhere, the Sanlam Golf Day at VetLab Sports Club was a tremendous success, marked by exceptional performances and spirited competition. Jonathan Barorot emerged as the overall champion, demonstrating his skill with an impressive score of 46 points. He also secured the title for the men's longest drive, rounding off a remarkable day.

The event showcased a diverse range of talent across various categories. Jatin Ghaghda claimed the men's winner title with an equally impressive score of 46 points, while Ann Njuguna topped the ladies' category with 43 points.

Junior golfer Ali Nurani recorded an impressive 44 points. Gituku Kirika won the prize for the special category with a score of 44 points as well.

Other notable performances included Nahashon Mbae winning the sponsor's category, and Ben Ogutu excelling in the seniors' group. The tournament's success was a testament to the participants' skill and the event's excellent organisation.
