Army man Brigadier Joseph Muracia soldiered despite a recent Hippo invasion scare to win the Captain's Kitty overall prize at Thika Sports Club over the weekend.

There was a recent sighting of a rogue Hippopotamus in Muranga County. The Hippo, suspected to have come from dams from the nearby Pineapple plantations was sighted roaming within the par-73 layout at night and messed up some of its greens.

A response by Kenya Wildlife Services (KWS) personnel to track and capture it was unsuccessful twice!

Muracia, playing off handicap 20, collected a whooping 41 stableford points to claim the top prize.

The Men winner prize was won by a handicap 17, SM Kibuiya, on a compact score of 40 stableford points, followed by the Men winner second, Moses Gatonye, who inked 36 stableford points.

Claiming the Lady winner prize with 29 stableford points was Petty Kigwe, playing off handicap 21.

Handicap 9, David Karuma, bagged the Gross prize with 80 Gross points.

In the Supplementary category, Bilha Muthoni posted 39 stableford points to star playing off handicap 40.

EG Wachira, playing off handicap 21, emerged as the Guest winner on a score of 31 stableford points as the Junior prize was won by Jessie Kirunga, playing off handicap 52, upon carding 42 stableford points.
