Getuma wins Adventist tournament in Kisii

A sizable field of 107 golfers graced the Adventist Golfers charity tournament played at the Kisii Sports Club course last Friday.

The fundraising event was organized by Adventist Golfers, in aid of Kendu Mission Hospital in Homabay County.

It was billed as a success by the organizers towards their goal of bettering the lives of patients and the community around the Level-four medical facility.

During the meet, Job Getuma triumphed with 42 stableford points to lift the overall title. Trailed by Wycliff Ayienda who won the men's winner prize on a score of 38 stableford points beating Z Bichage on countback on an identical score of 38 stableford points.

Roaring among the ladies was Martha Simba carded an authoritative score of 40 stableford points to claim the Lady Winner prize with C Nyangena settling for Lady Winner second on a score of 38 stableford points.

The Longest Drive Men winner prize was won by Job Getuma with C Nyangena winning the Longest Drive Lady winner.

J Simba won the Nearest to the Pin prize. Youngster N Nyachiro bagged the Junior prize with a score of 19 stableford points as B Siro settled for the Best Effort prize with a total of 21 stableford points.

Speaking at the prize giving ceremony, the tournament convenor and Kendu Adventist Hospital Chief Executive Officer, Phillip Gai, commended those who graced the tournament including those who supported this cause for making it a great success.

"We are grateful to all who participated today and those who have supported us. It is gratifying to see us inch closer to our goals by the day!" Gai said.
