Ndonga wins Vice Chairman putter title at VetLab Club

Home player Samuel Ndonga returned a fine score of 42 stableford points to emerge victorious during VetLab Sports Club's Vice Chairman (Muchau Githiaka) Putter prize over the weekend.
Ndonga, playing off handicap 14, inked the winning score courtesy of three birdies, 10 pars, four bogeys and two double-bogeys to outshine the huge field that graced the six-day tournament.
"Everything was working for me throughout my round and it feels good to be the winner of the Vice Chairman's putter," Ndonga said.
He had a better countback score compared to former Kenya Golf Union (KGU) Chairman Njani Ndiritu, playing off handicap 11, who carded an identical score of 42 stableford points to take the Men winner prize.
Handicap 16, Jared Ouko was Men winner second prize winner on a score of 39 stableford points.
Caroline Muthiga was the Lady winner on a commendable score of 39 stableford points with long-hitting Hellen Manyara settling for Lady winner second prize on a score of 36 stableford points off handicap 20.
Returning the best score from among the visiting golfers was Joshua Mugodo who won the Guest winner prize with 33 stableford points to relegate David Ebau to Guest winner second with 32 stableford points.
Mathew Kanyi proved that "Old is gold" as he won the Senior winner prize after inking an authoritative score of 39 stableford points off handicap 32.
Youngster Adrian Mwango won the Junior prize, outclassing the strong field of his peers on a score of 38 stableford points off handicap 25.
George Njoroge dialed in his shot on the par-three 16th hole to win the Closest to Pin prize in the men's category, while Hellen Manyara made it a double prize haul after winning in the ladies' contest.
Chrispine Owuor took home the Longest Drive Men winner prize, while Peace Kabsweka won the Longest Drive Lady winner prize.
Handicap 26 Shadrack Waweru had a tough outing garnering 14 stableford points to win the Best Effort prize.
11 twos were recorded through Nicholas Kariuki, Peter Njuguna, Jay Vadgama, Vivek Vajpayee, Hellen Manyara, and Jeremiah Kosgei.
Others were Willy Mastamet, David Kihara, RN Maina, Kepha Bosire and Brian Kimeu.
