Over 110 golfers will be at the Par 72 Nyanza Golf Club course in Kisumu County this weekend testing their skills and battling for honours in the sixth leg of the ongoing KCB East Africa Golf Tour.

The 18-hole stable ford tournament is expected to produce two teams to seal a spot in the grand finale to be held at the Karen Country Club later this year.

Eight teams have so far qualified from the previous five series played at Vetlab, Limuru, Railways, Eldoret and Kakamega.

Nyanza Golf Club Captain Thomas Odongo said they welcome the series to one of the most challenging golf courses in the country and that it will be interesting to see how various golfers will navigate the course.

"The course is in great shape following the current rains. We as a club have done everything to ensure the success of the series and we hope to have a good outing," said Odongo.

KCB Group Director Marketing and Communication Rosalind Gichuru said they are happy to head to the Lakeside city of Kisumu and that so far the bank's junior and women golf clinics have reached over 500 participants.

"This underscores the impact we are having in the counties we have traversed and it is our objective to reach more and more participants as the series continues. We are also buoyed by the reach so far as it speaks to our commitment and deliberate efforts towards golf, " said Gichuru.

The last series played two weeks ago at Kakamega Golf course, saw Catherine Aura lead her team of Ronald Omondi, Beatrice Otieno and Derek Mwaura to glory.

At the Ruiru Sports Club course, another estimated 150 golfers will be playing for their June Series Golf day tournament sponsored by Mutcho Enterprises.

The 18-hole event will see the team of G.Muchemi, J.Muruthi, S.Mwaura and T.Kiragu lead in teeing off first at 6:30am.

Meanwhile, Nyali Golf and Country Club course will be hosting golfers for their June Mug and the Ladies Medal in a strokes play format on Saturday.

Club Chairman Kamami Njoroge said the event sponsored by the Club has attracted some 180 golfers and will start from 6:30 pm with lots of side entertainments lined up for the golfers.
