KCB captain Maurice Owino scored a stoppage time header to send KCB five points clear at the top of the FKF Premier League after helping the bankers to a 2-1win over FC Talanta at Dandora Stadium on Friday.

The league leaders headed into the match behind their shocking 1-0 defeat to Mathare United before the international break two weeks ago and they needed to respond against Talanta.

Francis Kahiro scored his sixth goal of the 2024-2025 season to give the bankers a 1-0 half time lead when he found the back of the net in the 18th minute.

In the final half, Emmanuel Osoro restored parity and though he had rescued a point for the struggling Talanta when he rose high and headed home December Kisaka's cross in the 90th minute.

However, the bankers were never done as Owino sealed maximum points for KCB six minutes later.

The win pushed KCB five points clear, sitting top with 20 points after nine matches.

On the other hand, the defeat saw Talanta's winless run stretch to six matches with their last win being on September 14 when they narrowly edged out Sofapaka 1-0.

Meanwhile, Beldine Odemba begun her reigns as Kenya Police head coach with a 0-0 draw against Kariobangi Sharks.

Odemba took over Salim Babu who together with his technical bench were sent away after dismal show the past few weeks.

Odemba wrote history after becoming the second female coach to take charge of a team in the FKF Premier League.

Jackline Juma became the first tactician as she continues her reign with FC Talanta.
