All eyes will be on Ulinzi Sports Complex as Kenya Police and KCB square off in the highly anticipated Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Cup finals on Saturday.

The stakes couldn’t be higher, with the winner earning the sole ticket to represent Kenya in the 2024-2025 CAF Confederation Cup.

The final promises to be a thrilling encounter, with both teams bringing their A-game. Kenya Police has shown resilience and tactical prowess throughout the tournament, while KCB has demonstrated solid defensive play and clinical finishing.

Adding to the excitement, the final will be preceded by a third-place playoff match between AFC Leopards and Kariobangi Sharks, ensuring a day full of football action.

One of the key players to watch in this final is KCB’s goalkeeper, Farouk Shikalo.

Shikalo has a unique opportunity to make history by becoming the first player to win the FKF Cup three times. He previously lifted the trophy with Bandari in 2018 and with Kakamega Homeboyz last year.

His experience and shot-stopping ability will be crucial for KCB as they aim for victory.

Reflecting on last year’s competition, Kakamega Homeboyz clinched the FKF Cup by defeating Tusker 1-0, thanks to a decisive goal from Kevin Amwayi.

However, Homeboyz's journey in the continental competition was short-lived, as they were eliminated in the first preliminary round by Libyan side Al Hilal Benghazi, suffering a 4-1 defeat.

This year, KCB is determined to go further and make a significant impact on the continental stage, should they secure the FKF Cup and the accompanying CAF Confederation Cup slot.

Meanwhile, Gor Mahia, the record Kenyan champions, have already booked their spot in the top-tier 2024-2025 CAF Champions League. Gor Mahia secured their place by winning their 21st FKF Premier League title, extending their record.

After missing out on last year’s Champions League due to club licensing issues, Gor Mahia will be eager to redeem themselves and make a mark in the continental competition.
