Muhoroni Youth have been relegated from the FKF Premier League.

The Kisumu County outfit dropped to the second tier National Super League (NLS) on Sunday after playing out to a 1-1 draw by Posta Rangers at Muhoroni Grounds as the 2023-2024 season came to an end.

Muhoroni needed to register all three points and hope 2009 champions Sofapaka lose against Nzoia to stand a chance of playing top flight football next season.

Despite coming off a 6-0 win over Nzoia Sugar, Muhoroni’s fate was sealed after a 1-1 draw.

Furthermore, a win would change nothing after Sofapaka hammered Nzoia Sugar 3-1.

The stalemate brought to an end Muhoroni-season long stay in the top flight as the club returned to the competition last year after 'buying' Wazito's slot.

Muhoroni will now join Nzoia Sugar who were relegated about a month ago and the duo will play in the NSL.

Muhoroni finish second last with 32 points as Nzoia are bottom with 22 points.

Sofapaka meanwhile escaped automatic relegation after their win over Nzoia.

Joseph Oyugi gave Nzoia a 1-0 lead but goals from Keegan Ndemi, Jacob Onyango and Darius Msagha sealed a 3-1 win for Sofapaka.

Batoto ba Mungu sit in the relegation and promotion playoffs spot where they will play the third ranked team from the NSL in a two-legged winner takes it all playoffs.

At the same time, Shabana survived being relegated after flooring Murang'a Seal 1-0 at St. Sebastian Park.

The Glamour Boys were not entirely safe from relegation but fought hard to secure another season in the top tier after

The team needed maximum points to avoid dropping to the playoff spot in the event that Sofapaka would have won.

Samuel Maiko scored the all-important goal for Shabana that saw the club finish above Sofapaka and FC Talanta.

Shabana finish the season 14th with 38 points.
