As the second leg of the FKF Premier League unfolds, KCB FC is making headlines with a significant revamp of its squad.

The team has made a strategic move in the January transfer window, signing seven new players as it aims to climb higher in the standings and compete for the top spots. This comes as a direct response to their recent slip against Tusker, which saw them lose precious points.

The new signings include striker Collins Neto from Muhoroni Youth, midfield maestros Lameck Luhangala from Scorpions Musingu, Shadrack Simiyu from Compel FC, and Victor Ogendo from Musanze, as well as defenders Henry Onyango from Sharks, Francis Onyango from Bidco, and Vincent Ondabu joining from Equity.

These players are set to inject new energy and skill into the team, with each bringing their own strengths to the table.

KCB FC's Head Coach Bernard Mwalala has expressed his determination to get the team back on track.

"We slipped in the last match against Tusker, but it is no excuse. As we take on Ulinzi, a loss or a draw is not what we are envisioning, we are going into the match to grab the three points," said Mwalala.

The coach's confidence in the newly bolstered squad signifies the team's ambition to push for victories in the upcoming matches.

Despite the excitement surrounding the new signings, KCB FC has also seen the departure of seven players, including Harun Mwale and Harrison Mwendwa. This overhaul indicates a shift in the team's strategy as they aim to balance experience with fresh talent.

Currently sitting in 7th place with 27 points, KCB FC has had a mixed bag of results from the first leg, winning 7 matches, drawing 6, and losing 4. With 20 goals scored and 17 conceded, there's room for improvement, especially in turning those draws and losses into wins.

Henry Onyango, one of the new forwards, shared his enthusiasm about rejoining the club.

"I am delighted to be back home after my six months spell away at Kariobangi Sharks and I am looking forward to working under coach Mwalala who is a serial winner. The team is stronger with the new acquisitions, and I am optimistic I will get my chance against Ulinzi on Sunday where I am looking forward to scoring on my second debut for the club," he remarked.

The quartet of Kenyan internationals Haniff Wesonga, Herit Mungai, Kevin Okumu, and Bernard Odhiambo are expected to solidify the defense, while Apollo Otieno, Derrick Otieno, and Danson Namasaka aim to dominate the midfield. Collins Neto, a new striker, is also anticipated to make an impact.

As KCB FC prepares to face Ulinzi Stars, the squad's reshuffle could be the catalyst they need to orchestrate a winning formula that propels them into the top tier of the league. The stage is set for a riveting showdown, and all eyes will be on the Bankers to see if their strategic moves pay dividends.
