Kisumu Day renew rivalry with Maseno School as Kisumu County Term Two games kicks off

Defending champions Kisumu Day High School will renew their rivalry with Maseno School as the 2023 Kisumu County Term Two games kick off today (Wednesday) at corresponding Lions High School and Kisumu Day grounds.

The Nyanza Region Secondary School football Under-19 champions are in Group B alongside Nyakoko, Mikayi and Maseno School.

Onjiko, Kasagam, Agai and Masogo will headline Group A.

Speaking ahead of the games, Kisumu County Secondary Schools Sports Association Secretary George Osura said they are ready for kick off.

"Everything is in order and now it is that moment every Kenyan has been waiting for; football. As a nation, a huge number are football enthusiasts and we are sure of a successful event which we know will see new stars born not only in football but also racket games, volleyball and netball," said Osura who is a teacher at Onjiko High School.

Kisumu Day will kick off their title defense against Nyakoko from 10.40am before playing their second pool match from 2pm against Kit Mikayi at Kisumu Day grounds.

In the girl's category, former regional champions Nyakach Girls head Group A that also has Masogo, Kudho and Apondo.

Sinyolo Girls, Nyakoko, Kasagam and Reru are in Group B.

In Netball, heavyweights Nyakach Girls are in Group A alongside Dr Aloo Gumbi, Kudho, and Ngere Kagoro. Sinyolo, Masogo, Kajulu and Ahero are in Group B.
