Defending champions Tusker closed the gap between them and leaders Gor Mahia to within two points after narrowly edging out Kakamega Homeboyz 1-0 in a FKF-Premier League match played at Ruaraka Grounds on Sunday.

Micheal Oduor's strike at the stroke of halftime was enough to hand the brewers maximum points which saw them move to 61 points, two off Gor who were held to a barren draw by relegation candidates Wazito in a chaotic match played at Muhoroni Stadium in Kisumu.

Trouble started moments before Gor Mahia bus carrying players and members of the technical bench approached Muhoroni Stadium.

The security detail of both teams clashed after the hosts attempted to prevent Gor fans from accessing the stadium.

A fierce fight involving blows, kicks and pelting of stones endured before police officers lobbed tear gas to restore calm.

Gor Mahia who are gunning for a record 20th title were hoping to maintain the four-point gap at the top, but could not break down a solid Wazito side that thwarted their every move.

League top scorer Benson Omalla who has scored 25 goals so far once again failed to score for a second consecutive match.

The draw however left K'Ogalo top of the log with 63 points with five matches left before the end of the season.
