Nairobi City Stars winless run stretched to seven matches after playing to a 1-1 draw against Sofapaka in a FKF Premier League match played on Saturday at Ruaraka Grounds.
Samwel Kapen struck two minutes into the second half to give City Stars the lead before Rody Manga salvaged a point for Batoto ba Mungu in the 74th minute.
The draw hurt City Stars' push to move out of the relegation zone where they sit 16th with 14 points, two points away from safety.
Speaking after the draw, City Stars coach Nicholas Muyoti rued missed chances in the match as he bemoaned losing two crucial points.
"We did not take our chances in the match. We need to be very clinical in front of goal and have the capacity and quality to score more than one goal in matches. It is disappointing that we lost the two points. However, I trust in the boys and we will pull through game by game," he said.
