The FIFA World Cup beer sponsor Budweiser announced on Tuesday that any beers that are unable to sell at grounds in the World Cup finals will be given to the country that wins the tournament.

The announcement came from the company, after the decision was taken by FIFA and Qatar authorities two days before the tournament kicked off on Saturday, that beer would not be on sale at World Cup stadiums as previously announced.

The only place fans can now drink Budweiser is at the special 'Fan Zone' or in one of the few five-star hotels where alcohol is allowed to be sold.

Budweiser, which has spent around 75 million US dollars to sponsor the World Cup, announced its decision on social media with a tweet that said "Winning Country gets the Buds. Who will get them?" along with a photo of a warehouse packed with crates of beer.
