Three goals were scored at the death as Western Stima bounced back to winning ways after edging out AFC Leopards 3-2 in a five-goal thriller FKF Premier League match played at ASK Showground in Nakuru on Tuesday.

Michael Karamor and Geoffrey Ojunga scored for the Kisumu based team as Boniface Mukhekhe and Collins Shivachi hit the target for Ingwe who lost their eighth match of the season.

The win saw the lakeside team complete a double over Ingwe. Stima edged out Leopards 2-0 during the first leg played last year in December.

Previously, Stima also completed the double over Leopards in the 2017 and 2015 campaigns.

In the match, Karamor gave Stima the lead in the 15th minute before doubling the lead two minutes later from the spot to give the power men a 2-0 advantage at the breather.

Leopards would attempt a late comeback attempt by scoring in the 87th minute through Shivachi before Ojunga restored Stima’s two-goal advantage with a 94th-minute goal.

Despite Mukhekhe scoring at the death, Stima held on to register their fourth win of the season.

Leopards remain third with 43 points after the defeat. They are now trailing league leaders Tusker with 13 points but with a game in hand.

Stima on the other hand moved five points clear off the relegation zone. They are 15th with 21 points, five above Vihiga United who plays Nairobi City Stars on Wednesday.

Tuesday FKF-PL Results

Western Stima 3-2 AFC Leopards

Tusker 0-0 Mathare United

Bidco 2-2 Bandari
