David ‘Rocky’ Rocastle joined Arsenal at the age of 15 and progressed through the youth system to establish himself as a regular in former manager George Graham’s Squad.

The fan favourite was key to the Gunner’s title triumphs in 1989 and 1991.

Rocky then left the London outfit to join Leeds United then went ahead to play for Manchester City and Chelsea but remains associated with the Gunners to this day.

In 2001, David Rocastle declared he had non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (an aggressive form of cancer), which killed him two months later.

The Arsenal faithful received the news of his death 18 years ago today on a derby day against bitter rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

His name will forever be engraved in the hearts of the Gunners fans for his contribution to the Club.
