Australian actress Rebel Wilson known for her roles in movies like "Bridesmaids," has shared a personal story about her journey with intimacy.

In an interview with People magazine, Wilson revealed that she lost her virginity at the age of 35.

Wilson's upcoming memoir, "Rebel Rising," which delves into her personal experiences, included this aspect of her life.

The actress hopes that by sharing her story, she can empower young people to feel comfortable with their own timelines for intimacy.

"Not everybody has to lose their virginity as a teenager," Wilson said. "People can wait till they're ready or wait till they're a bit more mature."

Describing herself as a "late bloomer," Wilson explained how she would navigate conversations about sexuality with her friends in her twenties.

She would either deflect the topic or pretend to have already had the experience, feeling societal pressure to conform to certain expectations.

Reflecting on her journey, Wilson remarked that if she had been born in a different time, she might have explored her sexuality sooner.

"I probably would've explored my sexuality more. I just knew I was attracted to men, and that was the normal thing."

"And then only years later, meeting women and having feelings for a woman, and that, I just think it's a sign of where society kind of was," she said.

Despite her past experiences, Wilson is now embracing being a wife and motherhood.

In February 2023, she announced her engagement to clothing designer Ramona Agruma, and in November of the previous year, she welcomed her daughter, Royce Lillian, via surrogate.

"I can't even describe the love I have for her. She's a beautiful miracle!" Wilson wrote on Instagram.

"Rebel Rising" is set to be released on April 2.
