Ten students have been selected as recipients of fully funded high school education scholarships valued at Sh3 million after they triumphed in an annual art competition.

The competition, in its third year, involved over 10,000 learners in 300 public and private primary schools under the Competency-Based Curriculum between Grades 1 and 4.

The initiative aims to encourage creativity and self-expression among young individuals.

Alongside the educational grants, they will benefit from personalized mentorship programs generously provided by Jubilee Life Insurance.

Speaking during the award ceremony, Ministry of Education Director General Dr. Elyas Abdi said that cultivating the seeds of creativity is not only a commendable endeavour but also an essential investment in the country's future.

"The partnership between Government and the private sector in promoting art will foster a generation of thinkers, innovators and visionaries. We commend Jubilee Life Insurance for nurturing the artistic talents of our children and reinforcing the significance of creativity in our education system," Abdi said.

Entries were then assessed by a panel of experienced and talented art judges and creative professionals responsible for identifying award-winning pieces.

The judging criteria included creativity, originality, and adherence to this year's theme of "Celebrating Jubilant Moments'.

Speaking during the award ceremony, Jubilee Life Insurance Chairman Zul Abdul noted that by empowering young minds through creativity and imagination, fosters a vibrant culture of art that enriches communities.

"We would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to all the young artists who shared their incredible talents with us. Your creativity inspires us," Abdul said.
