Kenton School win Obuya Charity match

Kenton School cricket team are the champions of the second edition of the Obuya Academy Charity match after beating Peponi House.
Kenton won the toss and elected to field first. Peponi House scored 100-4 in 10 overs. Kenton scored 102-2 in 10 overs winning by eight wickets.
It was a moment to behold as Kenton got awarded with the precious stumps on Sunday that were used in Kenya's historic 2003 World Cup semi-final clash against giants India cricket team in Durban, South Africa.
Speaking after the match, Kenton College Preparatory School captain Arhan Shah expressed his happiness for having won the tournament now for the second time.
"I feel very privileged to hold that and also very happy that the skills level in this year's games was much better and higher and more competitive as compared to last year," Shah said.
He said the challenge received during their encounter with Peponi team energised and proved to them that they needed to up their game in order to maintain the good performance.
Obuya Academy side was eliminated from the tournament after losing their matches to the two finalists.
The Most Valuable Player of the tournament was Arhan Shah with 40 runs and two wickets.
The fans who turned up to watch the colourful tournament had the opportunity to buy souvenir Kenya team shirts signed by 2003 Cricket World Cup legend, Collins Obuya who recently called time on his long international career.
Obuya who was also present said the proceeds of the charity match will be used to support education of needy students across five counties.
