Vihiga Queens ranked eighth in Africa

Kenya’s Vihiga Queens have been ranked 165th place with 85 points according to the latest press release by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS).
This follows the club’s stellar performance accruing from recent participation in the CAF WCL Zonal Qualifiers (CECAFA) and TotalEnergies CAF Women's Champions League in Nairobi Kenya and Cairo, Egypt respectively last year.
This enabled two of its leading lights goalkeeper Lilian Awuor who landed a French division one club ASJ Soyaux-Charente (Association Sportive Jeunesse de Soyaux Charente) commonly known as Soyaux Women Football Club that plays in the top tier in France.
Queens lethal striker Jentrix Milimu Shikangwa also got a signing with Turkish top-flight club Fatih Karagumruk Sportif Faaliyetler San Tic A.S. Club early this year.
Other African Clubs include four Moroccan clubs, three South African clubs, one Ghanaian, Nigerian, Kenya and Egyptian club respectively.
Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies of South Africa tops the IFFHS Women's Club World rankings, occupying the 26th position with 210 points.
This was after the club won the maiden edition of the TotalEnergies sponsored CAF Women Champions League last year.
They are one of 3 South African teams in the top 10.
This ranking is based on the performance of clubs in international and national tournaments over the last 12 months, dated 1st March 2021 up until 28th February 2022.
Mamelodi are followed by Morocco FAR Rabat in 35th with 194 points, Hasacaas Ladies of Ghana in 55th with 166 points.
Three other Moroccan clubs, Municipale Laâyoune 100th with 116 points, Raja A?t Iazza 129th with 100 points and Ain Atiq Temara Morocco 147th with 94 points.
Others are Nigeria’s Rivers Angels ranked 161st with 86 points; South Africa’s TUT Ladies placed 175th with 82 points; the South Africa’s University of Western Cape placed 191st with 76 points and Egypt’s 91 Wadi Degla also placed 191st with 76 points.
This is their first world club ranking for women’s football with other 10 African clubs within the top 200 of the ranking and is based on the performance of clubs in international and national tournaments over the last 12 months, dated 1st March 2021 up until 28th February 2022.

European clubs like Fiorentina, Empoli, Aston Villa, Villarael and Everton were ranked in 169th, 180th and 198 positions respectively while Barcelona and Olympic Lyon occupied the first and second spots.
Brazil is the obvious leader in South America's women's soccer. Eight Brazilian teams have been placed in the top 10 teams in the IFFHS Women's World Rankings.
Of these eight, Corinthians stand on the edge: The 2021 Libertarians Cup winner is far ahead of all other teams through the ranking points collected in international and national matches over the past 12 months.
Paraguay (Sero Portino) and Colombia (Deportivo Cali) are represented in one team in the top ten centers.
