The stage is set for the Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) as the second leg of the league kicks off this weekend at the Nyayo National Stadium.

Men's league champions General Service Unit (GSU) will open up their campaign when they face Prison Mombasa on Saturday before battling it out with Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) the following day.

The Gideon Tarus-coached side will be looking to continue their winning streak in their two matches in the local league.

A duel encounter is expected between the Red Berets against the KDF as the two sides will try to outdo each other

At Kenya Ports Authority last week, the two sides went into a five-set thriller in an edge-of -the seat encounter at Makande Hall that saw GSU win.

The maroon commandos will go into the match without Kelvin Omuse, Simon Kipkorir and Brian Melly. Omuse has joined the GSU Training School while Kipkorir and Melly have parted ways with the team.

On the other hand, the Elisha Aliwa-coached side, KDF, pride in having a crop of both experienced and fresh blood players.

In other matches, new kids on the block, Prisons Nyanza, will battle it out with Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) on Saturday before taking on Kenya Army on Sunday.

Prisons Central will have a date with former champions Prison Kenya before facing Trailblazers on Saturday and Sunday respectively.

Eight matches each day are on the card for this weekend with three playing on surfaces in use with other teams using the Indoor Arena, handball and volleyball outdoor courts, respectively.
