Police in Migori have arrested a 24-year-old woman after her lover, 52, died in a lodging at Nyatike on Friday morning.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) said the man's lifeless body was found at Lavanda lodging in West Kanyarwanda Sub-Location.

It remains unclear what caused his death.

"The man's body was found on the bed," the DCI said on Twitter on Friday, July 29.

Police said preliminary investigations reveal that the man collapsed and died hours after booking himself into the lodging facility.

"He'd been accompanied by his 24-year-old girlfriend," said the DCI.

The man's body was moved to the Migori County Referral Hospital morgue, awaiting postmortem.

His girlfriend was arrested and taken to a Nyatike police post for interrogation.
