Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has called for calm and respect for elected leaders.

Speaking in his first public appearance in a week following rife speculation of a fall out in Kenya Kwanza administration the DP said he would not engage political spats.

"On the issues of politics I will say nothing as I have become a man of few words. If you have followed my politics the last 10 months you will note that I am man of few words, I talk less and do more," the DP said.

He told off elected leaders who he accused of early campaigns warning them to wait for the elections in 2027 and give those in office time to deliver their promises.

"There is no need for campaigns and politics why is an MP focusing his effort on me instead of CDF let each of us do what were elected to do. The people will decide in 2027, so let's bring down the political temperatures give those of us in office, time and space to serve," he said.

The DP called for the leaders I region to avoid publicly attacking each other noting it was shameful.

"We are embarrassing ourselves by trying to outdo each other and shout at each other let as hold ourselves with dignity and respect, remain united under the Kenya Kwanza government," he said.

In a show of support for the DP over 20Mps, several MCAs from Nyeri, Laikipia, Nyandarua and Murang'a and Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga, his Deputy David Kinaniri and Area Senator Wahome Wamatinga arrived at the Endarasha Catholic Church for a fundraiser in high spirits.

Last Sunday the DP while attending a church service in Embu County where he endorsed calls for the implementation of 'the one man one vote one shilling' principle in the distribution of resources
