County to slash roads cash to pay teachers

Meru County plans to slash funding for road projects to increase allocation for ="https://www.standardmedia.co.ke/topic/early-childhood-education-development">Early Childhood Development Education< (ECDE) teachers.

Governor Kiraitu Murungi made the announcement after ward representatives piled pressure on him to increase pay for pre-unit teachers.

Abothoguchi West MCA Patrick Muthuri, who is also the education committee chairman, said the county assembly would back up push for better pay for ECDE teachers.
