County to slash roads cash to pay teachers

Meru County plans to slash funding for road projects to increase allocation for Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) teachers.
Governor Kiraitu Murungi made the announcement after ward representatives piled pressure on him to increase pay for pre-unit teachers.
Abothoguchi West MCA Patrick Muthuri, who is also the education committee chairman, said the county assembly would back up push for better pay for ECDE teachers.
